A potter around Asturias/Picos etc

Can’t be arsed due lack of interest.

did your ego explode or deflate slowly with a farty noise like an escaped party balloon?

Anyway, you quitter, take some paracetamol and post the pictures from Ferrol as I have that Parador on my bucket list.

Me too. Thoroughly enjoy these threads.

Bit of a surprise comment from you, Mr Arsey; was drink involved?:augie :comfort

Keep it coming please.

Ha ha , how did you guess.

Not a great deal to report.

Ferrol was very nice but we sat in hotel bar as huge thunderstorms all night.

A good day again.
Managed to dodge the rain apart from a 5 minute shower.
Some utterly cracking roads with bends galore and a mixture of everything from open sweepers to lovely tight hairpins and single track roads going though mountain villages, some all cobbled.

The best bit was ringed here :

Looking forward to the amazing food at our hotel, the Forte de Sao Francisco tonight.

We normally hit the pool on arrival and have a large free pour G & T but it’s a bit grey this evening . At least we beat the weather here .

Expecting rain though.Been pretty much dry all week so had to happen at some point.

I am waiting for the rain to clear, after putting out most of the fires to the South of my place in PT.....Heading out on Tuesday for as long as it takes and probably not returning to the UK any time soon....I simply cannot wait:D
Even shutting the business, as it looks as though the UK is going into lockdown, so going to operate from PT for EU orders only.:D

Fuck the UK.

Thank you very much. This, along with your balcony road report have been both interesting and informative. :thumb2

Thanks for the great photos, I love this part of the world.

I stayed in the Pousada at Viano and then went east through the Penedes Gera national park. Agree that it is very scenic and yes, I encountered some steep hairpins on cobbles through farmyards!

Always nice to see that corner of the world Arsey 👍

Well said .... great report and photographs :thumb

:beerjug:

This trip was always more about the roads than the views , especially compared to the Vercors .
Asturias is total biker heaven . Galicia has it’s moments and some lovely coastline .
But I thought it’s worth sharing the route in case others come this way .
I’ve not been the trip planner on this trip as Enginerelight is the local expert .

There’ll always be the sarcy comments such as Wessies.
Anything Cabby says is taken with a pinch of salt as we all know he has chips on both shoulders and only comes on here for an argument .

Anyway I hope this thread may be of use to some .

Today we’ll be rained on a fair bit but of all our last 4 year annual trips we’ve barely had any rain so had to happen at some point .

Combination of Rukka jacket and Rokker jeans is perfect for me but the others have a mixture so probably mucho faffing putting on and taking off rain gear . It’s like a 90s time warp :)

Great bunch of mates though and the week has flown by again .

But I thought it’s worth sharing the route in case others come this way.

Looking at exploring area next year, fingers crossed, then travelling down through Portugal then across to Southern Spain to meet SHMBO so your routes are much appreciated. :thumb2

Great trip. Not many pilgrims in Santiago . Probably Covid related
