On my iMac I’m still running Mojave, but just got a new MacBook Pro which is on Catalina so I’m thinking of upgrading now.

I resisted upgrading till now as I have some 32 bit apps, mainly for GPS like Javawa, but I’ve decided to run Windows in Parallels for all this stuff now.
I also have Sonos, and at the time of the Catalina release and demise of iTunes many people were having difficulty with Sonos.

Is there any reason not to upgrade now? Any disadvantages to staying on Mojave?

I haven't found any issues, upgraded on my MacBook air as soon as it was available, so been months now

Catalina running fine on all our Macs and MacBook Pros.

You've already addressed the 32bit app issue. Check Parallels for latest version as VMWare issued a point release for Catalina as previous version didn't work. That was a fun day..... Bootcamp runs well too.

No reason not to stay on Mojave if it does what you want / need it to.

Been running Catalina since it became available and its fine

does it do more than Mojave I certainly don't know the answer as I obviously only scratch the surface of its capability but Catalina works so don't worry
