Yesterday I was doing the TET from near Dover into West Sussex
I was up a very gnarly hill - Truleigh Hill, and the bike was dying
Looked down and the float bowl had been knocked off
Luckily it had not bounced into the grass and i found it

Is there any way to secure it such that the sprung holder does not get knocked back?

This is what I have fitted to my three Airheads.

The wire shown is good from the point of view of not losing an accidentally unclipped float bowl, but perhaps running a shorter one looped around the retaining spring and back would stop the bowl from becoming unclipped at all?

Or a zip tie thru the retaining spring & around the Vacuum port or the idle mixture screw (whichever is more convenient on the side you work on).

Or float bowl leashes. I documented these over here. I only ever had a problem with the left side. The buckles of my boots would catch when I changed gear.

THANK YOU !!
