Has anyone here removed the Nav mount from their bike?
Can it be done, and if so how easy is it?
Don’t plan on spending the cash on a Nav V or VI, and want to mount a QuadLock mirror bracket in its place.

Did exactly that. Just beware when you take the torx screws out from the mount it falls apart, careful that you don’t lose bits! Apart from that there’s one plug to disconnect, overall it’s a really easy job. Quad lock mirror mount fits perfectly on the oem bar.

Had a look earlier, and the cable from the Nav mount splits into 2 under the right hand panel? Any idea?

One cable is for sound, think it does something on the K1600 or some such. There should only be one connected on the GS. It doesn’t complain if you disconnect it.

Tricuspid is right

You can get a plug from BMW or Nippy Norman’s to connect another GPS etc to the canbus

BMW REPAIR PLUG, 3-PIN Part # 83300413585

Apparently they are cheaper from a BMW car dealer than a Bike dealer

Got the NAV mount off, and mounted the QuadLock mirror mount. I now need to “blank” off the plug that the NAV mount was connected to? Any advice or suggestions?

To blank it off you can:

A. Buy another connector and use that as a blanking plug. Search for secondhand or buy new.

B. Wrap it in tape.

C. Really wrap it up in the self-gluing stuff, so the the next owner of the bike can curse (or praise) you.

D. Snip the end off.

E. Use imagination.

F. Ask again.

Option A? Any pointers to where I could get the plug?

Excellent, thank you!!
