EWS!!!

Good luck!

RA is a bit fiddly to get off the bike, but there is a wee "trick" if you have the spare key. With a few scraped knuckles you can leave the original one installed where it is (on the ignition switch) and just wriggle the connector off to connect to the spare one. When you do that, put the original key in the lock and secure the spare key in the spare RA (cable-tie would do). Use the original key to start the bike and the spare to read the key code from. Hope that makes sense. RA is cheaper than what most garages would charge for diagnostics time. It does go wrong occasionally and is good to keep as a spare if you go far from base. The procedure above is why people take a spare key and RA when touring. it is a road-side fix. All else fails, you can usually sell the RA on here for near what you paid for it. Cheap diag in my book anyway.

Thanks for the ‘top tips’ All being well the new RA should arrive tomorrow. I shan’t be able to get to it for a few days.
Thanks again

It was the Ring Antenna 😡. Even after fitting it all needed to be reset. Many thanks to you all for having shared your thoughts. Many thanks to Rich at Moto R in Ruthin North Wales
