For some reason I seem to be getting German adverts when watching YT vids, also when I go on Bing maps it starts up in German also

I've obviously clicked something somewhere that has set this, anyone point me in the direction of changing it back ??

Using Chrome.

clear your browser history somewhere you've been via a german search engine... which has tripped this... :)

schopt looking vor ze pissen und scheissen videos....

would be my advice

once they algorythm figures it out that you mainly look for UK stuff... it'll fade away...

It's Loch not Lock. And sprechen not sprecken. Jocks usually manage well when speaking german because of their ability to manage the guttural bits, och aye.

Stop looking at porn :blast

loch in german means hole...

so there's already a pointer for the search criteria that might be a square head...!

You're not using a VPN are you? If you are, it could be coming out of an exit node in Germany, which websites then geo-locate and serve you content in German.

I don't have a clue what a vpn is, however, a vpn thing pops on occasionally and has only started popping up recently.

Google thinks I’m in N.Ireland rather than Devon :nenau

Normally you'd need to deliberately install the client, set up an account and probably pay, so I'd guess you're not. (If you're just seeing something about VPNs on web pages it could just be adverts.)

It pops up down on the right hand side when I open t'internet, like a little blue rectangle box, says something or other then drops down again, I did think it unusual but as usual just ignored it :blast

I've just had a look around, and there are some concerns about VPN Proxy Master in terms of provenance, privacy policy and even malware in some cases. I would recommend giving your computer a full malware (anti-virus) scan using the tool of your choice. If you're on Windows 10 and haven't installed anything else, you probably have Windows Defender.

Possibly a browser hijack. Try a program called ADWCleaner. Its a free download and excellent in finding pups. I use it and it has never let me down.

Safe Riding
