powder cost or paint

Just purchased a pair of alloys for the GS. ETA Saturday

There is no damage and are standard BMW type grey. I fancy a colour change to gloss black.

I have some questions to which i am hoping the collective can answer please

1, Can you powder coat a gloss finish?
2, Is it as smooth as paint?
3, Can you apply a lacquer?


Finally anyone have a pair of front discs? (Will put a wanted ad in in due course)

I know the TPS will have to be re-coded.

Having had a good few car wheels and bike bits through the powder coaters, yes, you can get a gloss finish on your wheels, so no need to add a separate layer of lacquer. With my car wheels, (alloy) I have found the finish to be mirror smooth, but steel subframe on bike in flat black is not so smooth. Slight orange peel effect, but I’m probably the only person that would notice.

Had a few wheels done by these guys. A little bit pricier than some but a FAR better job.
Yes you can have a gloss finish.
