BMW R18 Review.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I'll change the music next time but I dunno if it'll be better or worse.
There's little chance of less swearing but I'll see what I can do.
Bike noise while riding is a tough one at the moment. All I pick up currently is wind noise. If anyone can recommend a cheapish mic that works with a gopro 7 then get in touch.
cheers
Mike

Apparently the trick is to use two devices. e.g. audio recorder is a phone placed under the seat.
Example I saw had phone wrapped in cloth placed in seat cowl; cloth wrapping for phone or mic protection? I dunno.
Then merge video and sound recordings.

Good first video. Enjoyed it, thanks (agree with the music comments though... somehow made me think of Scooby Doo doing a porno... but perhaps that says more about me!).

Why do people go to the effort to make an interesting vid then wreck it with f*****g music !!!

I know .... watch it without sound

Enjoyed the video, it makes a change from written reports.
My only gripe with the bike would be the position of the foot pegs, there's no scope for fitting forward controls.
But apart from that it's a lovely thing.:thumb2

BTW, there's nothing wrong with having Tourette's.:D
:beerjug:

I thought it was OK, real and I understood every word.
"Berlin Built" put me off though, I would not like to be reminded of the German heritage.

I find that the sticky-out cylinders remind me of its German heritage.

I've seen that, also you get mics that work with the gopro. Editing two sound sources would be a pain in the arse. I'd rather stick with the lift music!

If you're looking for a good run head up towards Gifford then over to Duns. Go down via Longformacus and back via the Whiteadder reservoir or vice versa. A run over to Innerwick and Dunbar via Elmschleuch is another good one.

Music is better than wind noise, well I think it is anyway. There's more of me talking than the music anyway.

The first time I did an on-bike video was along the RdGA and I had the sound on and, on playback, it was all wind noise!

Ever since then I've had the sound off but never got round to doing what you've done.

Unfortunately, when I was at the Mugello MotoGP and Dovizioso won, I used my bike camera to video the mayhem at the podium as I was directly across from it. Chain saws, engines, horns, etc. - the noise was deafening!
When I got home and watched it on the TV I had had it in bike mode i.e. no sound!

Buggers!
