Hi

I've got a BMW branded Garmin (Nav 5)

Any ideas what I'd need to attach this to my scrambler 1200? What parts etc?

thanks

You will need either a Garmin 660 mount or a BMW four button holder. You might be better off selling it and getting a normal Garmin for your bike.

I’ve used a ram bolt replacing a handlebar clamp bolt - then a 1inch Ram mount to the rear of the GPS powered mount.

right - got the 660 mount and ram mount now, both off ebay. Currently connected into the battery

does scrambler have a fused accessory connector somewhere? dealer said not

thanks

Or use usb cable into Nat nav itself I suppose, bypassing the powered garmin mount
No. The Garmin will think it’s connected to a PC and go into a mode that means you can’t navigate.

I tried to connect my NavV to a DIN socket on a triumph T100 I rented in San Fransisco and that’s what happened. The battery lasted long enough to get me about 75% of the way on my route and then died.

ermm can you explain that idea to me? I think you are suggesting disconnecting the usb and wiring into the feed to it - but as you say, means Id lose the usb

did you put a fuse in?

are you twiz from old Ridersite days (Jorge at Renegade. Hammy, Tron etc.)?

Thanks

I believe it should have a 1 amp fuse? Any idea?

The second hand mount I bought doesn’t have a fuse so I will have to wire one in
