Would have been better with a frame mounted half fairing...:D
And shift cam engine...But then it would have been a S1000RR with a superbike handlebar...;)

I think they made a better job of the styling for this update on this than they did with the 2020 XR update and I own one of those, looks only mother could love..

Th S1000R looks like those track bikes after a crash when you could not afford to put a new fairing on and said phuck it I buy a superbike handlebar instead of replacing the broken clip-ons...I think BMW should have cheated like Ducaiti or Aprilia and give us a little bit more bore which would have been free extra power & Torque and called it S1100R or even S1200R...Same of course with the new S1000XR ! But it will be coming anyways just to keep up performance as long as the Eurocrats in Brussels stay in power trying to kill the glorious I.C.E.ngines...:(

Its bad enough you know a load of shite about GS1250 but now your an XR expert too.......you talk a load of bollocks ! end of.......

I rode them all...1250GS/R/RS...S1000RR...S1000R...not the new one of course and also S1000XR old & new...No bollocks at all...;) Almost bought a S1000XR but got a 1250GS instead ! Better bike but the XR has more top-end for sure...Not enough to make up for lack of T-L & shaftdrive...At least for me.

The problem with bikes like this is that you can't go flat out for sustained periods. Anything above 80 mph becomes a strain if you fancy a long ride. Not a problem if you stick to the speed limit. Flyscreen, maybe but it is still wind you sit in. R1250R is just about all the bike you need from a naked BMW, but is not all the bike you may want.

With a frame mounted half fairing it would have been a S1000XR..... Maybe :beerjug:

I do like it though :thumb

They should have done something like this-fit the lights from the RR.

IMHO, looks better than the shite they came up with

Arsey I'm with you on this one...:thumb2
Maybe you should design the new M1300GS...:thumb
But I guess it was cheaper to use the F900R headlight sourced cheaply from Taiwan...;)

You could get an MT-10 and save a fortune - same sort of thrills

I've got cramp just looking at it.
Agree with the point about it looking like a crashed track day bike!

Twin headlights are the way to go Arsey, like that....don't like the bike in your first post, looks like someone smacked the bike with a baseball bat and broke the top of the fairing.....shit IMHO

It s probably I nice riding bike with some improvements in weight and handling over the older one like the new S1000XR...But is it enough to trade up ? I think they should have bored or stroked them to 1100/1200 cc for more power and Torque as also made bags and centerstand available or even a frame mounted half fairing for the R for people who want that S1000RR with handlebar feel while the XR is more upright and tall like a GS...Also what is with all thatugl graffity in the back ? Not cool as people who think it is cool don't have the money to buy a new S1000R...

It has the same power in EU-5 times as the 2014 S1000R...It handles better and has a TFT dash but is not as good sounding anymore without the backfires.170hp is enough for a naked upright bike because no fairing and it is already wheely prone...No shiftcam is probably a plus (cheaper) but a liitle more bore/stroke for 1100/1200 would be free and give more midrange Torque.A S1000XR makes more sense than any of these nakeds...;)

Plenty of pops and bangs in dynamic pro mode but non of the others, 2022 S1000R.
