Solo Touring

There is a compromise.
I do rallies where the accommodation is pre-booked and a suggested route is given but not much else.
We have a morning briefing after breakfast, where a suggested lunch stop is given and areas of interest on the route. Then folk set off when they feel like it, and are free to travel in a group or separately.
You get the benefit of travelling solo if you want to, but then meet up with the group for a blether over dinner.

One of the only the troubles of solo touring is that I find ‘you just keep pushing on’ sometimes and forget to stop and just take it all in

When touring with mates, you can stop and discuss the previous few hours riding and remark on the little things

Solo or with Mates has advantages and disadvantages

thoroughly agree with the danger of "keep on pushing on".
Important to also take care of yourself (hydration etc).
i have made same mistake sometimes on long distance , whether on foot (camino) or bike touring.

Solo suits me fine
