Hi,
I have removed the ABS modulator and pipework and replumbed the brakes on my 2005 R1200RT.
I would like to know if I need to plug in the end ECU from the modulator for any reason. The front & rear brake lights work OK without the ECU, is there anything the ECU is needed to operate?
Cheers

Yes the speedo ;)

It uses the speed pulses from the abs reluctor rings & sensors to determine road speed - controlled by the modulator you removed ;)

The back unit is the default sensor, and ordinarily its job done, however if it fails, the bikes ECU's will work it out and change to the front ABS circuit - however after a servoecetomy it doesn't always work

Oh and you will have a failed ABS lamp lit on the Kombi (dashboard) this needs covering over ;)

Thanks for the reply Santa.
I'll weatherproof the ECU and refit it.
I've already covered the two flashing lamps.
