Hi

Bennett’s insurance have done a review of the best disc locks and the Pragmasis round disc lock gets a really good write up. There is a warning that it doesn’t work on some BMW’s but I can’t find any further information.

I want to use it as a disc lock rather than a lock on a chain as I won’t have anywhere to carry a chain.

Has anyone used one of these?
Will it fit the disc on a 1150GSA?

Did they also review the pound of butter in the fridge?

I only ask as I have never owned a Pragmasis round disc lock and have never had (touch wood) a bike stolen. I have though used other disc locks.

But hey, if Bennett’s say they are the dog’s bollocks of disc locks, go for it, mate.

https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...sc-locks/pragmasis-roundlock-disc-lock-review has the dimensions - if the hole in your disk is like my XR, over 16mm then it will not fit in standard form, over 22m with the adapter.

Get a socket and measure the outer diameter to simulate the size i.e. 16mm & 22mm. If both of these pass through your disk then it won't fit.

Personally, I would buy https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...sc-locks/pragmasis-roundlock-disc-lock-review as I have something similar made by Mammoth and this type fits a wider range of bikes

Of course, having a pig ugly bike that nobody would be seen dead on is the best motorcycle security. No need for fancy locks of any kind. :aidan

It’s also worth noting that, while more traditional disc locks and mini U-locks fit on the BMW S1000XR, this one won’t as the openings in the disc are too large; the lock just drops through.

From the review

Just bought a Pragmasis Torc Mega ground anchor, 2m x 16mm chain and round lock for my GS1250. Very pleased although don't regard the chain as transportable but the round lock is great.
