1992 R80GS Refresh

Smashing job John. Like I said before "refresh" does not really do justice to your work on this thread! :thumb2

Lovely sunny afternoon here in Northumberland so took the opportunity to empty the garage of bikes and give it a spring clean and take some pictures of the R80GS outside

Proper job ,
Nice one mate.:thumby:

Thanks Mike , at some point I'll get the engine / gearbox and wheels over to you for a full refurb but its running well for now so it can wait for a while , probably be a project for next winter ;-)

What's the pile of kit by the paddock stand? Was that the contents of your panniers? :D

Looking smart now it is finished.

The pile of kit is the paddock stands , battery chargers , U-Locks /cables and bike covers for the three XChallenges which are lurking behind the R80GS in the 3rd and 4th photos ;-)

When you get the wheels refurbed, have them anodised the same colour as the 850.

Not 100% on that one , question is do I get the F850GSA engine bars and fork stanchions painted yellow ?

Perhaps I wait until I've actually ridden it I think , took delivery in October and not been out on it yet.....

A great job. I've really enjoyed this thread, many thanks for taking the time to keep us all in the loop....:)

Received the PD cockpit side panels today from Germany so will get the PD tank fitted and get some new pictures posted

They even sent me a free sticker and marked the parcle as 5 Euros value and a gift so no VAT or import duties to pay :)

Great thread. Hats off to your skills

Finally got round to fitting the PD tank and panels

Just need to get it booked in for an MOT now and once out of lockdown I can actually get to ride it at last
