Ok so I got myself a set of pannier racks from a 2018 1200 gsa and planned to fit on my 2019 Gs 1250. Went to finally fit as it’s a bit warmer to work comfortably in the garage. Put the left side on no problems fits perfectly. Went to fit the right hand side and the bracket that goes under the rear foot peg will not fit. Or rather the rack fits and the bracket but the rear peg will no longer fit. Does anybody know why not. Does the 1250 have different shape rear pegs or is the bracket for the 1250 different:nenau I’m assuming the rack is identical as that fitted perfectly.

I too have done this. The footrest brackets are different and need to be changed too. The GS brackets have a protrusion for the vario panniers while the GSA brackets don’t.
This photograph shows my bike after conversion.

Alternatively, if you don’t carry a pillion, you can leave the rear footrests off completely. Slightly shorter bolts would be needed I think.
