With Brexit we may find ourselves buying kit from EU rather than our regular UK suppliers so it may be useful to have a list of tested EU suppliers

I came across Motea.de recently. Ordered a dolly. Excellent quality and delivered in about 10 days.

Just look at all the threads where bods in the UK have sung the praises of EU suppliers and named them; they’ll be the places you need to contact to price match / barter / haggle and beg, with.

There is a certain irony in bods from the UK buying from mainland European suppliers within the EU *, prior to Brexit. This was because the UK was a rip-off. Whilst you, in the RoI and part of the EU, chose to buy from the UK.

* Having of course spent hours scoping them out (to use the vernacular), trying things on, discussing the finer points, chilling with the shop owner (a fellow biker, natch) and maybe even being given a coffee. Then walking out, sucking their teeth at the unfairness of being ripped-off in the High Street..... and banging in an order to Cologne, where they know how to treat bikermates.

PS For a while the pound was much stronger against the euro, which (for bods in the UK at least) also artificially boosted the popularity of buying from euroland.

Ireland may be different due to their being inside the EU bubble currently,
Certainly from personal experience Since !st January many German sellers don't post to the uk or really high postage, Motea seem to be discounting and postage is fair at the moment but they seem to be the exception,
Got what I needed not available in uk from Spain in 3 days, no difference to before 1st January ,
I try and buy from local sellers with some benefit from sales back up especially kit etc and expensive items, which may have changed now with Europe re rights etc for us outside the EU, ,

https://www.accessorimotostore.com/ in Italy has been my goto source of Givi stuff - they often get stock for new bikes before the UK dealers and usually cheaper
https://www.fc-moto.de/ - bought Daytona boots from here
https://www.louis.ie/ for all sorts inc. Rukka
https://motokaup.ee/english/?___from_store=ee - got some SW Motech stuff from here at quite a saving from the UK importer. Most EU retailers won't ship outside their country as SW-M get funny about it

One hopes the current difficulties will subside and we in the Proto Banana Republic can order from the above without additional hassle or cost.

I loved sportsbikeshop, amazing service. I've still bought stuff from the UK Post brexit and I haven't been hit with any charges yet. I have used motocard which are fine but a bit slow and I've fc moto which are very good. As are Louis.de

clutch parts

im looking for new clutch parts for my gsa 12 2006 late edition, does anyone recommend a euro bubble company , cant be arsed with all the customs crack from uk

For BMW parts:
BMW-Bayer are long established but I haven't used them yet. €14 delivery charge
Limited stock list though. I haven't discovered an EU company with the comprehensive stock of the UK independents.
Worth a look for the poster looking for clutch parts.
Hornig is another company but they're for more specialist parts.

Only just found this thread. Thank you for that.
I had a look - bit more pricey than Maddocks / but worth keeping the site bookmarked.
Cheers. :beerjug:

I bought some bits from nippy Norman, they kindly didn't put a value on the box. So I did not have to pay uk tax and I was not charged duty. Result!!
