As Sven Said connect Tom Tom power to nippy normans connector using only two of the 3 wires it then connects to the auxiliary plug on front right shown in pics run cable to wherever your mounting sat nav I used a ram mount which screws to handlebar clamp if I can do it anybody can.

Thanks lads. Might have to use something else to fasten wires together as i don't have a soldering iron.
Anyone got a link to a crossbar mount please as i cannot seem to find one.

Thanks again. Could anyone tell me the diameter of the cross bar please as i don't have access to the bike at the minute.

Connecting directly to the battery is a really bad idea so ignore that advice....

As others said, you can get the BMW cable to connect it to switched power. I have a HEX ezcan so used one of the leads off that

Thanks again lads.

Hi
So taken the Garmin off and ordered a connector from nippy normans. Why is there two connectors coming from the Garmin unit ?
3 wires from the connector I have pulled out and only 2 wires from tom tom .
Thanks Doc

One connection is for the menu wheel on the bmw left handlebar and you only use two of the three wires in the other one. Think the middle is not used but someone else will confirm. The male connection to the Nav unit connection ends in a 6 if that’s what you have ordered.

White and black connector wasn't in use. Menu wheel still worked though.

Spare connector takes audio out from BMW/Garmin satnav to connect to audio system on bikes which have this, like RT.

The third wire on the other plug is the data line which allows the nav to respond to the wheel. Obviously not needed if you are using the cable to power a TomTom.

Thanks pal. Sorted it now.
