950 super enduro a few years on

Ha.
I know you mentioned bling with my bike but everything that's been done is in the name of real world improvement.
When I first got it, I set about finding everything that can stop a 950 then set about making it bomb proof.

Since the water pump seal was leaking a little so first job was to fit a hardened pump shaft etc.

Tesco’s will be forever out of bounds!

You’ll not get it over the speed humps:D

I would say enjoy, but it's impossible not to :)

So is it just the body work that makes the SE different to the ADV ? could I put a safari tank on my 990s if I ever wanted too ?

I'm late to the party..again :blast

I've just been into mine to do valves and also to re-jet and fit a MWR air filter ( been given some good information from Chris Wells of Xbikes ).
I need to take it out for a test run now to make sure that all is well but I have no intention of running it through our salty winter so, do you do as per KTM suggest and run the carbs dry before storage , or add some decent fuel stabiliser and not worry about it...or, add fuel stabiliser and still run carbs dry ?
Those carbs aren't the easiest to get at to work on so I don't want to have to pull them again in the Spring :beerjug:

I avoid stabilizer and fill our bikes with ethanol free fuel before winter, around here Esso and Shell Premium contain no ethanol.

Not sure about dry vs wet carbs as our bikes are all FI, but I would guess the carbs will end up dry anyway as it will evaporate (unless you have an old school manual fuel tap or a "prime" position) so probably best to drain?

I've switched the fuel off at a tap just before the carbs and ran them dry, before that I took it out for a good hot thrash then added some Motorex stabiliser before topping up with some V-Power fuel.

I don't worry about my F1 bikes either, I just make sure that they have V-Power in the tank and sometimes add some Pro FST as well.

I had a 950SMR a while ago and did some research and fettling. You probably know the following, but anyway: the fuel pump is a weak spot (mine failed), I believe water pump seals are also a known weakness, and despite it being carb fed mine needed the air injection gubbins removing and some other fuelling tweak that I’ve forgotten. And setting up the suspension defeated me, not that it was bad, just couldn’t seem to get it as good as I thought it should be- now I’d take to an expert for a proper setup.
