I have ordered Denali D7's, cansmart, sound bomb and rear B6 rear light for my 1250GSA. I'm not proficient in fitting these and wondered if there was anyone local in London/Surrey who could.

Cheers

Jeremy

Isn't the 1250 just too digital for an 1150 analogue specialist like Steptoe

You could ask Les Wassal who does lights and recommended
a guy a few years back more local. No disrespect to Steptoe.

Thanks all. I'll ride my bike to Birmingham myself to get them fitted.

Good call on Les Wassall. He did a great job fitting HID50s to my 1200GSA many, many years ago.

Ive fitted my own this morning.
Honestly put everything aside for a day and go for it, its genuinely easy.

it takes longer removing the farings than fitting the denali stuff.

Take off front beak and the 2 side faring it tooks into.
Take both seats off
Take 2 screws out under seat holding tank cover in place.
Behind handle bars remove 3 more screws
cover for tank will lift off.
run light cables from the Cansmart box from under front beak, down side of tank cover.
under first seat and feed it under the devider to under the back seat (can be a fiddle)
Remove cover for battery, 1 screw watching for the 2 rubber rings rolling off.... they tend to try and run away lol
now the hardest part....
get the cansmart in place under back seat, insulation tape the 2 ends for the wires going to the battery (the ones with the inline fuse)
the tape is just so you dont touch anything while pushing through :)
feed it though the deveider between seats life before, only the other side... can be a bugger to get the inline fuse bit to go through... but it does.
get the wires to the batter... inline fuse to positive, the other negative... 2 screws.
unplug the plug right at the back under back seat. there is 2... unplug the one tucked under the very back.
Plug the can smart into the bike and the plug you removed from the bike into the cansmart (passthrough)
plug your lights in and check all is working.

If all is working.
cable tie the wires but dont snag and make sure the handlebars move freely.
Replace all fairing and job done :)

Do it yourself, it really is plug and play. As others have said there are plenty of videos on YouTube

You make that sound eminently doable. Having watched both the video I linked and the a bike thing video the differences seem to be if the cables to the front are in the cable trays under the tank or to the side of the tank ( and panel removal not required).

Did you need to program the cansmart or was default setting immediately usable.?

it works pretty good straight from the box.
Only feature i need to change is the denali lights go out if i indicate... i dont like that.

press and hold in the indicator cancel button for 3 seconds to turn on/off
push right on the wonder wheel for 3 seconds the lights flash and you can now din or brighten the lights by rotating the wonder wheel.
they flash when you pull the flash light switch along with your main headlight.
if you double pull quickly they strobe flash.

Unfortunately i dont have a laptop, and i cant get the bike in the house to the PC lol
so programming the canbus is an issue :/
I will work something out

Oh just to add...

I went out for a ride today and realised that there is no way to know if your lights are on or off!
there is no light on the dash or anywhere else.
Bit of a shame really... that's the only negative i can say about it really.

Obviously at night if they are on a bright setting you will light the road up, and you will know.
But if the lights are on a dim setting or your riding during the day and want extra day lights, you wont know unless you stop and physically look at them.

The sound bomb plus strobing lights sound and look interesting on the videos, I wonder they can be configured to go
mental when the alarm triggers?

I too have just done this myself on my new 1250. Never taken all the panels off before, but after watching the “Bike thing” vids on YouTube, decided to give it a go. Like others have said, take your time and route the cables with thought, and it works a treat. No adjustments or programming of the actual cansmart required. Connects straight out of the box. I too don’t have a laptop, so borrowed a mate and his laptop to plug into the cansmart and download the app, so I could set up the lights etc as I wanted. They are bright !

I’ve got mine to run as daytime running lights at 20% but illuminate at 100% on full beam. Brightness is adjustable on the move via the scroll wheel. Lots of permutations and options as to brightness levels, whether you want them to turn off on the particular side you indicating, whether to have them strobe when flashing or hitting the horn etc.

Honestly, it’s very ‘doable’ and rewarding to do it yourself. If I can do it, I’m sure you can !! I’m in Surrey so if you have a go and get stuck or need advice, always happy to try and assist !

Agreed !

Just started the process and gave up !

The instructions are different than the bike, the videos are different than an adventure, the plastic fuel tanks are metal, the clips that hold the self tappers fall off when you unscrew something.

Nothing like this to remind me how unpractical I am.

Steptoe do you work on these ?

Search missenden flyer on YouTube
He fitted them on a gs rather than a Gsa
I’ve just bought some myself and will fit them myself
