No idea about a Portlaoise owner but my work colleague did mention he bought it from an instructor bit coincidental though

Ok said work colleague has seen one on done deal for 6,750 and now thinks he has under priced it significantly and wants to raise his asking price to 3500 euros:nenau

I think your friend is over optimistic, that model was never sold in a civilian spec in the UK. I remember when I moved from the R850R to the R1150RT I wanted a 850RT. But was not available it cost virtually the same according to the dealer, the 850/1150 civilian model ended around 2004/5 when the 1200RT came out. To convert a PC to civilian use is not worth it. Some prices on the continent you can reset the filters , but you not going to find a 2007 model. Personally I would go for a late 2003/4 1150RT. Just had a look, from a dealer in UK :2004 1150RT with 18686 miles £3840

Cheers Zoltan for your help. I have no idea about these or what they are worth . All I know is he saw one on donedeal and thought he had way underpriced it. According to him a batch were brought in for the Irish Police but never put into service. It has the whole frame thing going on around the panniers and cylinder heads and is a single seat. What do you mean about reset the filters. With regard to decommissioning there are no lights sirens wiring as they were never taken by the police. Is there any other stuff you suggest to check .
Cheers

I used the filter on the website so you could only see the relevant bikes.
To turn the bike from a Police spec to a civilian speck ie twin seat etc it cost a bit of cash. I had a look doing the same on a RS (SPECIAL ESCORT BIKE) in the end I gave up on the project. It looks like prices on the continent are stronger than in UK.
Frankly I doubt he will sale that in UK.

Here is the same site will about 155 850RT bikes from all over Europe.

An other good site is this and is free.

The bike is in Ireland I presume. The best place to sell is DoneDeal but so annoying. Be prepared for lots of tyre kicking and low offers. Fully serviced 2 years ago and lying up 18 months inside outside? Looks like there’s a few quid to spend on it. All you need is some wannabe with a polite jacket and you have a customer. If it’s the bike I’m thinking of it would be well looked after during that ownership. JJH

Hey look up 07 bmw and it should pop up

Would that be from a instructor around portlaoise? JJH

If that's who i think it is... :eek
Mad fecker - i shared a B+B room with him for a week when we did the RoSPA DIP. course in Edgebaston U.K.

He's a very straightforward bloke - i'd happily buy a Bike off him.
And very funny company. :D:thumb2
