Need a place to stay 15th, 16,17th September

Looking for a nice place to stay for me and my wife for her 40th birthday. I live in North Manchester /Lancashire and would drive up to 3 hours or so. Ideally somewhere pretty and the digs have a nice bath to unwind.

Old England Hotel, Bowness. Stayed there a couple of years ago. Ask for a room overlooking the lake if you want pretty. :thumb2

Stayed next door previously at a friend's wedding, lovely place but way too pricey for me at £350 per night. Cheers for the info though.

There are special deals to be had, but it seems prices have skyrocketed of late. I paid near half that three years ago.

We have just been to '1692 wasdale' at Gosforth . Fantastic place,friendly people and lovely food. And hot tub with a view.
