~ 350 Classic Launch ~

It had completely passed me by that RE were bringing out a new 350 but I'm very glad they have. The new bike apparently shares no parts at all with the old bike and Alex (Nomadic Knights), who posted up these pictures of the launch at his local dealer, reckons they are quality and very well put together.

I hope they do well.

RE seem to have gone from strength to strength with higher build quality each time. I doubt I'll ever buy one but I do like them.

I particularly like the rear wheel guard to stop your sari getting caught up.

Yeah it's funny isn't it, I really like them too, I rode the old 500 into the Himalayas and it's a great bike. I keep thinking I want to buy one but.......like you.......I doubt I ever will. Never say never though......

I can still see ownership of a Continental GT in my future.

The 500 is nice to ride around on country lanes but I wouldn’t want to have to hold it at motorway speeds for a long day meaning that while it’s good for local days out or weekends in the Dales or Lake District it’d be a drag getting over to Europe.

Does this have the same engine as the new Meteor?

If so, the Missenden Flyer gave that bike a really good review.

A mate of mine is awaiting the meteor. The build quality on them is excellent. I didn’t even know they were bringing out this model . I think I prefer this to the meteor………looks good!
When is it likely to come to the U.K.?

That's the one. In fact the only negative I could see regarding the Meteor (given its natural limitations) was the factory cruiser styling which I think is always a bit questionable.

But, as a short commuter or a Sunday bike, it seemed pretty engaging. That same motor, dressed up in more traditional guises might be pretty cool.

Every time I see a pic of an Interceptor I like it more.

Plus, was there ever a better, cooler name for a bike that that?

That cruiser styling is horrible and the Japanese factory custom bikes that flooded the market for a while were nothing short of being a stain on motorcycle design history.
