This is rather lovely and certainly has a bit of history associated with it.

I don't suppose it'll be cheap but there are some rich buggers on here ;) so somebody may be interested.........

(Lifted from the Moto Guzzi MG UK Facebook group if you want to contact the seller)

A friend is selling the motorcycle of her husband, the French rider Roger Chevalier, French speed champion in 1963, who raced the Bol d'Or at Le Mans from 1971 to 1973, finishing 6th in 1972 with this motorcycle. Roger Chevalier worked regularly with Lino Tonti in Italy and he was Moto-Guzzi and Laverda dealer in Marseille, France.

This motorcycle is one of the 3 special racing machines built at the Moto-Guzzi factory in the winter 1970 by Lino Tonti. She first competed in the 1971 Bol d'Or, Chevalier and Mallet pilots, but retired after 10 hours due to a broken piston.
The bike was then completely rebuilt by Lino Tonti, who also replaces the brakes with new discs and Lockeed calipers. The original B10 racing cams were replaced with more radical cams supplied by Scola. The gearbox was fitted with special straight cut gears.
Then the bike was again entered in the Bol d'Or 1972 with the riders Chevalier and Dottori, the bike finished 6th.

After a new reconstruction at the Guzzi factory, Roger Chevalier became the owner of the motorcycle. It also obtained all the documents for a use on open road and it gathered all spare parts for this utilization: fuel tank, silencer, alternator, shock absorbers, saddle, rear controls, etc ...).
The motorcycle can therefore be used on circuits or on open roads, and it has all the official documents.

After the death of Mr. Chevalier, the motorcycle was stored in a dry garage, protected from dust. It is still in its racing configuration, the road parts being available and supplied with it. Some racing spare parts (including 3 different rear gear ratios) are also available.

You’d think they’d put it on the MGCGB website rather than faceplant, but there you go.

That is simply lovely! A real piece of history and I can remember reading about the Bol d’Or that year, (and many other years too), as I was too poor to make the trip myself.
