A93 as it used to be

I've done the route past the ski centre many times, between Blairgowrie & Braemar. Where exactly is the Devils Elbow?

As you approach the ski slopes you will pass a car park/viewpoint on the right, a further 600/800 metres further on there is access to another car parking area on your right. This leads to the remains of the old A93 which can be seen with the antitank barrier in one of the photos. You can with care ride back up to the existing road where the devils elbow would have been but be careful when you get to near the top of the old road as there is only about 2 metres before you are on the road and you end up scaring the shit out of anybody passing gap on the main road :eek:

I recall as a child going on holiday and being driven up the devil's elbow, it certainly seemed a crazy couple of bends at the time.

Looks like it might be an interesting read - but I clicked on the link and you have to be a subscriber to view the article? Is anyone else having this problem ..

I’ve taken a picture of several of my vehicles on the old hairpin.

Read the article - thought it very good and enjoyable. It will be a reason to head that way when next up in Scotland and see for myself.
