R80ST fuel tank

On the underside of the fuel tank there is a small tube which looks like a breather/overflow, should this have a hose attached to it or is it nothing to do with that?

It’s an overflow from the filler area. G/S tanks with the filler cap standing proud don’t have it. It should have a tube running to below the engine but all I’ve worked on had the tube missing so I’m not sure of the route if you’re after factory correct.

My R100R had the overflow pipe below the fuel tank.

The rubber hose was fed down the off side frame tube and past the swing arm bearing.
