A new flip-lid from Schuberth?
What about Schuberth, you might ask? After all, isn’t the German maker the flip-lid specialist?
Historically, yes; but their latest C4 didn’t really come up to expectations, and is now quite swiftly been withdrawn from the market. Whilst the venerable C3 Pro is looking a little long in the tooth. It’s been around for over 10 years, and the technology has moved on.
But all that will change quite shortly when Schuberth introduces a new flip helmet. We cannot possibly suggest what this helmet might be called, although it doesn’t require the intellect of a genius to work it out. It will arrive on the shelves in early 2022. It will be the first 22-06 flip on the market, and we know that the German maker has gone to great lengths to put it on a par with, and potentially even improve upon, the Neotec 2.
It’s on its way. With a rounder shape, more like the C3 Pro, it will fit some people who cannot get on with a Shoei. We’re reliably informed that we will be able to offer changeable cheekpads. There’s a rumour that the Sena comms. will be based on a model that is superior to the one on the Neotec. The only downside, as far as we can see, is that the new helmet will be more expensive than the Shoei. And we think that’s bold, coming from where Schuberth has done in recent years, and given that the market-leading Shoei has such a solid, proven reputation.
But, for some people, the Schuberth will be worth the wait.
