Hi all,

Perhaps my eyesight is just getting worse, but does anyone else find that the low beam cut-off for the LED 1200gs headlight (mine’s a 2016) is very short/sharp?

I’ve got the lever thingy behind the headlight set for max throw, but on unlit roads, I’m find it barely adequate above 50mph. It’s not only very short, but the cut-off is very sharp between can see the road/can see nothing.

High beam is better but turning it off for oncoming traffic leaves me struggling if I’m not careful. Apart from the lever, I’m not aware of any adjustments that can be made?

I don’t remember previous bikes being as bad as this. Perhaps it’s a ‘feature’ of LED headlight.

Cheers

Dave

I agree. I think the dipped beam on my 1250 is really poor. Main beam is fine but switching it on and off all the time is a pain.

The LED has very little scatter unlike a halogen so the cut off is always going to be very pronounced.
Just raise the adjuster on the screw thread.
First thing I did on the 1250 after finding the 1200 to be defined. 30s on a dark road sorted it.
