When you say ‘we’ is that you and partner or a load of hairy apes ?
If it’s the former then I can recommend Manoir Ogygia in Poperinge.
Fabulous place with lovely rooms and stunning food .
Not the cheapest place but worth it.

I cut this out of a parallel thread, not least as Poperinge is a reasonably popular destination for WW1 merchants.
 
That is a very, very fine hotel. The restaurant is excellent and quite a lovely setting in the manor house.
As said, not cheap but most definitely worth it.

I'd always recommend such folks stay at Toc H Maybe not in the same culinary or comfort league as the one Arsey recommends but definitely in a league of its own re atmosphere and WW1 connections.
