Hi not long since collected my Urban GS and was thinking about paint protection film for tank areas and either a grab rail or rack any recommendations

For protection try "Helicopter Tape". I was looking for a tank pad and £40 seem excessive so I got some tape and made one about £5 plus cardboard and pencil. Plenty of info on Youtube basically I heated it with the wife's hairdryer to smooth out bubbles, worked a treat.

Get yourself a Unit Garage rear rack as it doubles as a grab rail.

Can also be used with the SW Motech soft pannier rails.
