Applecross

Little known fact....that area renowned for being bad for adders....one guy I know won't get off his boat unless he's wearing wellies......

I know a bloke from Wales who does the same in an area renowned for sheep.

I'll be up there in a fortnight, looking forward to it,just me and my bike and a tent.
Ride past the pub, heading south and you come to the road end, good place to catch mackerel in August

What bait?

Bank holiday weekend and I was expecting Beach na Carnage..nope !
Dead quiet on the way over from home and I only met 2 vans against me and 2 cars going my way...all kindly pulled in and let me go so it was a proper hoon to the top , right from sea level !
There was a convoy of classic 80s cars just arriving at the top of the pass so I pulled over to let all the lovely Ford Escorts, MK2 Capri's, GTIs, MK3 Cortina's etc all cruise past, everyone smiling and waving out the window...followed closely behind by a group of around 10 bikers all looking absolutely miserable with barely a nod from any of them .
A bit later on the way home through Torridon there was the obligatory convoy of expensive muscle cars but all that aside it was an incredibly quiet couple of days and the campsite was pretty much empty...all very relaxed :D And warm and sunny..

Still, couldn't get a table at the Inn as everything was apparently fully booked after 5pm...even though there were empty tables all night :nenau
Junction cafe was closed Sunday and Monday, as was the Walled Garden, thank goodness for the takeaway van across from the Inn .

Where was everyone ?
