Back on a BMW

Do a brake bleed anyway and check what ABS system you have re any flushing of the ABS pump. Steptoe will know.

It had a £600 service less than 2,000 miles ago by an Indy near Northampton. He’s listed a brake bleed and fluids under the service items.

The brakes are linked but non servo

It said the same about mine when I took it to BMW...which was wrong! If you look around the open hub where the circlip holds on the hub, if there is any writing in that channel...then its alloy or if your eyesight is as bad as mine use a magnet, replacements were steel.

Its steel I've already had a magnet on it.

Hi Rob

Welcome back..! :beerjug:

I had an RT for 9 months.... Also found it cramped with my 33 inch legs... went back to a GSA! Liked the handling and weather protection of the RT though... shame it didn't work out for me.

I put mine into the high position last week, much more comfy now, although I think my 33" legs are now kinked due to riding around on my Royal Enfield interceptor

Hi Rich,

Ive no idea what this whole high foot peg thing is about but it makes supposed touring bikes into very limited range machines. I had a pan European before this RT, the riding position was terrible. I pumped a load of money into different seats, lower footpegs and higher bars but never could get comfortable on it.

Ive fitted the wundelich foorpeg lowering kit to this RT and it still needs to have them lower still for me to be comfortable so it looks like another £200 needs to be spent to buy the Wundelich Evo footpeg system. I think that will sort it out.

I love those enfields but the foot rest position is ridiculous. I jump on my mates 500 Daytona and another friends T140 and they fit like a glove, no stress in hip joints or lack of circulation in legs. Makes you wonder why modern bikes are getting it so wrong.

Apparently my shocks will be in the post on Monday

Very quick turnaround. They only arrived there on Monday morning.

TT Tech Suspension in Croydon. The business was setup 5 years ago by a young Polish guy, He specialises in BMW ESA suspension units. Experience so far has been brilliant https://ttechsuspension.com/

I've had the shocks rebuilt and resprung for my weight. Luckily the servos were all seized up but have cleaned up ok so no parts needed there. Apparently its the wiring that lets the ESA shocks down, the insulation splits, water gets in and the servos seize up.
