Anyone know about the quality of the replacement seat covers available.

Any that match original quality?

Thanks
Gerry

I believe Gary at BAMW does good quality covers.

Thanks but Gary had a clear out of his spares over a year ago when I bought a blue (Siebenrock) G/S cover from him.

The GS covers available at Motor Works and Moto Bins look very basic quality but are priced accordingly.

There are several advertised on eBay but it would be helpful to know if are recommended.

I bought one of Gary's (BAMW) seat covers. It was made by Siebenrock. Very high quality

Gerry it might be worth talking to a trimming company.

I tried the stock covers route and ended up going down the custom option, it wasn’t very much more expensive and I got what I wanted.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I am asking for a friend who has a 1991 R100GS (I think from new) and he regularly rides this with his wife on pillion.

His seat has recently split and he is looking at options.

With the original cover lasting so long they must have been a good quality. :thumby:

I suspect original look and quality may be a priority. However, my own GSPD has an excellent quality custom cover sourced by Mikeyboy.

Tetley has also been kind in helping me with recovering G/S seats.

I am also aware of other seat recovering specialists in the East Midlands area.

If anyone has a standard original black GS seat cover going spare please let me know and price you want.

Thanks
Gerry

Siebenrock stuff is OEM quality and the best you can buy, but neither the G/S or the GS covers are a easy job to fit.
You need a heavy duty staple gun and very short HD staples, and preferably a second set of hands to stretch the cover as you fit it, as they are made the exact size and require a decent stretch to fit.
