Today breakfast in Arromanches-les-Bains then onto the new British Memorial very fitting place, 24500 names on the memorial,

The staff there told me plans are already in progress up and down the coast
for the 80th in 2 years time and its going to be massive, we shall see?

Last day tomorrow, weeks gone really quick

All the photos from the D.Day trip now in a album on Flickr, not necessarily in order taken (Flickr does that) great trip, greatly impressed by the new British memorial with 24500 names on it in, talk is over there that the 80th is the next "Biggie" and preparations already underway
Flickr Link in the above post

Just got back myself from Normandy, a tour with the Airborne Forces Riders Group, fantastic few days, even managed to blag a trip out in an origional DUKW amphibious landing craft

I enjoyed the 75th anniversary trip in 2019, but got up too late on 6th June to ride through the road blocks to Arromanches for the British ceremonies :blast

I'm planning to return for the 80th in 2023, assuming my grumpy father-in-law still doesn't want an 80th birthday party on the 5th June :thumb2
