These just arrived in the post for the special that Mikey is working on. Roy Martin at billetbikebits made them for me. Very pleased with how they’ve come out :okay

Lovely yokes….take extra points for not calling them triple clamps. :)

Nice wheel build too….what size rims?

Nice wheel build too….what size rims?

Rims are 21” front and 18” rear, the front is KTM to match the 690 enduro forks I’m using and the rear is a standard tubed rim laced to a paralever hub. Tyres will be 90/90-21 and 4.00 x 18 TKC 80’s

No photo’s of the build yet because I’m collecting parts while Mikeyboy has been building the motor, gearbox, bevel and getting the frame reinforced and powder coated. Plan is for Mikey to assemble the rolling chassis and I’ll finish it off over the winter :)

Thanks. That’s interesting

On the rear did you increase offset and take the opportunity to go with a wider rim?

I’d like to go from 17” tubeless to an 18” tubed rim on a paralever 4 stud wheel but wasn’t sure it was possible.

Who should I talk to please?

Richie Moore can make you an 18” wheel to fit a 140/80 18 onto a monolever.

Mine’s a paralever, it should be able to take a 130 x 18 without offsetting the rim but there are no TKCs available in that size in the UK so I’m fitting a 4.00 x 18 to start with. There should be tons of room for that (famous last words). I’ll send some photo’s once I’ve fitted the tyre and tested the fit on my Basic

Thanks chaps.
It’s a Paralever I’d like to do….from OEM 17” tubeless to 18” tubed on the stock hub.
I’m not fussed about going bigger width particularly so it’s great to know its possible.

For some reason it was in my head that due to the number of spoke holes on the stock hub, a tubed type rim would not match up.

Busy evening of bike related activity, finished my GPS routes for September whiz around SW Germany and NE France, then a burst of energy in the garage got the rear tyre onto the rim. What a joy it is fitting tyres to a rim without a safety bead. Looks good but I reckon a 130 or 140 will be better once I’ve checked the clearance on the bike. Very satisfying though :beerjug:

I thought I’d better check the 18” wheel & 4.00” tyre fits OK to a paralever so I put it on my basic. It’s 45mm bigger in diameter and 8mm narrower than the standard 130/80-17. The good news is that it all fits perfectly with about 6mm clearance on the tyre and good clearance on the spokes v the bevel housing. Happy days :D

That’s a result. Looks good. What width rear rim did you have laced to the stock hub please?

Superb. :thumb2

Mikeyboy is going to build me a pair of wheels when I manage to get the rims and hubs I have up to him. :blast :D
