can someone please explain the difference internally between left and right side of tank ?

there appears to be a difference low down above fuel outlet on left side -

If you are referring to the shelf you can see inside the filler hole. This is where the tank fits over the electrics which are attached to the side of the top rail on the frame. This is the same on all the later Airheads.

If this is not what you are meaning. Then I'm sorry I have no idea.

almost like a buffer ? i think if you run out of fuel it is possible to tilt bike over to left side and this gives extra small reserve .
