BMW Discontinued Service Manuals

Most manufacturers will not provide service data to the public. I paid £100 from the service DVD for the R1250 GS. Will they do one for the later models ? Who knows. The RSD DVD's stopped in 2018. All manuals are now online and only accessbile by BMW dealers.

This is the case with most manufacturers now. Suzuki, Kawsaki, Honda etc. You can't buy their manuals. You can't even download them. All web based.

The manufactures business models is solidly based in your reliance to the dealer network. The dealers have to make a money by screwing you over on expensive oil changes and software updates because the dealers make very little money on selling the bikes.

They rely on you swapping your bike every three years. Service plans etc. And more than all, they build their bikes to be uneconomical to own after the warranty has expires. Planned obsolescence
