Crich Tramway Sunday 2 July

I thought the place was struggling and about to be closed or sold off ? hope i've got that wrong.

Do you have anything to back this up?

I can only see plans to renovate the café in local news.

Sorry Tbolt i don't ; it was just a small snippet i spotted on the web; i was kind of hoping some on here may have had a better idea; the wifes mothers old Sheffield tram is in there; it would be sad to see it closed down.

No problem, nothing appears to safe from ‘cost of living’ problems at this time.

Nottingham Castle closed without warning recently after spending millions on refreshments.

I believe booking to show a bike is free.

This should be in the Peak District section, Shirley!

Then you can post it there Shirley as there were only 3 new threads posted in the Peak District section in 2022 and none so far in 2023!

The East Midlands includes the historic and geographic counties of Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

There is a mahooosive 1905 steam powered beam engine (used in Titanic film)
Its fired up every wed thurs fri sat and sunday at 1200 and 1400 the 60 ton flywheel is spun @ 120RPM clockwise then in a matter of 3 seconds
stops and revolves counter clockwise.
Truly impressive. There is loads of parking for bikes and cars around back of museum and its FREE entrance = chuck a bit in box for the gas if yer like

Well, bless my soul. So it isn't. Humble pie is in the oven, I shall eat it later. :D

What a brilliant heads up. This place is a mine of information. Did you go on the GS? :thumby::beerjug:

I’ve got to say that the East Midlands section is always active and even though I’ve moved I still check it out to see what they’re up to.

This is tomorrow. I am booked in too, I hope the roads are dry and it doesn't rain.... now to get the map out and find out how to get to Crich. Living up here for 35 years and I have only been to that town once!
