I hope someone can help

Following a recent software update (Windows 10) the links in posts to other sites does not work

For example https://www.tutorochainoiler.com/

comes up as 'aboutblank' on the address bar.

I know I can copy and paste but not having a direct link is a real PITA

Many Thanks

Mike

FWIW that link works perfectly for me :nenau

What browser are you using?

Presumably some security setting is affecting the clickiness of the link. This could be in Windows, the browser or an embedded extension, installed software such as an adblocker, virus checker or malware detector.

Try using a different browser e.g. if using Edge, download Chrome or switch to Edge if using s 3rd party browser like Chrome.

I am assuming you have switched it off and back on again after the update to ensure any processes have completed.

Thanks for your thoughts but

Even though I typed in

https://www.tutorochainoiler.com/

on my own thread, it will not work. Comes back with 'aboutblank' in the address line

Also tried it in Microsoft Edge and it is exactly the same

This is absolutely user error, even though you may not know it.
There is a security setting that is preventing you from clicking on links

Makes sense but I don't think so

I'm on other forums and the links work perfectly on them.

It is only this site that gives me the problem

Also just found out that if I left click on the link it will open in a new tab or window but if I right click it goes to about:blank

I've checked the setting on this site and can't see a problem

Can you copy the link address and show it here?
Right-click on the link.

Can be some third party sw injecting something in the URL and failing.

Have you tried clearing temporary internet files, cookies & browser cache.

You may have to re-enter PW's etc. when going to your favourite sites...

If a link fails to work for me (Apple computer) it's usually down to content blockers.

My MacBook has the option to "Reload without content blockers" (click and hold down the "reload" logo in the website name field at the top of the screen).

Find how to do this reload for whatever operating system you have.

Some info here:

https://www.alphr.com/how-to-disable-ad-block/

Hope that's not blocked for you!

Thanks, but tried that

Thanks Redboots

I opened that page by right clicking and opening in new tab

Found that page a while ago and tried it without success but it appears to be the solution for about:blank on start up. My start up is fine as only UKGSER is affected

Just to make sure I tried it again without success

Thanks for trying

I'm not sure what you're asking me to do but when I click on a link in UKGSER (only) this is what I get

Cheers

Right click on the link. From the contextual menu there should be something like “copy link destination” or “copy link URL”.

Copy that and paste here the result. It might be multiple things.

Try on this one:

www.apple.com

Have you disabled all/any add-ons?
Or run the browser in safe-mode?
Does the problem persist?

What browser?

What about this link Mike? Do you get the same result?

The above link works perfectly Paul

That link opens in the same window/tab as the one you are currently in, all other links here open in a new window/tab.

It looks like you have something configured your end to block new windows/tabs from opening correctly.
