Thanks Steve, It's been a 19 year process of change and tinkering to get to how i want her! I've put a lot of touring miles on in my ownership, so the subtle changes have been things that i've thought over the years would improve her, braking, frame mods, engine mods, and suspension. Needed some head work doing last year, so whilst the engine was striped i put in a 7rock asymmetric cam, did a few frame mods (swingarm 2x shock positions, standard and +25mm), machined a lower fork yoke to replace top yoke, made rear rack, repaired center stand frame tabs (were oval),and fresh powder coat.

I've the standard racks and panniers for touring, next i want to get the bench seat recovered, that will have to wait though!

Ah, metal gluing I wish I had 10% of your talent.

That’s a true labour of love Stuart. When you die, have it buried with you. You’re the only person who might NEVER say, “I wish I hadn’t sold my old G/S”.
Steve.

That is a true labour of love
I really appreciate the thought & skill that has gone into the modifications
As Barny says, wish we had your talent......

Thought I would register my bike here, I have had it a few years now. Matching numbers, originally imported from Italy in 2015.

You could say it’s an ongoing project......opportunities for improvement always cropping up.

Nice bike. Bring it to the East Mids brekkie on Saturday.

A real gem - now revived
Following an ebay purchase that was highlighted on this forum in October to January, the bike is now working well

looks great is that the old green ? framed one with the homemade dash ?

Is that a LED headlight, or just a trick of the photo?

If it is LED, -lease can I ask where you got it from?

Thanks

Not seen that fairing before on an R series, where did it come from?

The fairing was an option on the R80ST and R65. I've added a K75C screen to the fairing - although in the photo it's a test fit as it's not 100%.

Well you learn something every day....looks good.

My PD after a long lock down winter refresh...body work was fine...frame a bit ratty so been off to the powder coaters, re conditioned gearbox and FD, new valves, guides, rings push rod tubes etc..Carbs reconditioned, head bearings, wheel bearings etc, etc, - now running like a dream.
