All machined from case hardened steel

theres your problem - you don't machine stuff fromm case hardened steel - you case harden it after machining.

Also - are you sure you want it case hardened ? That's more for shock-loaded parts that need a bit of flexibility - like gear pinions.

EN26 would do the job :thumb

does that mean problems with it then?

Could be interested in one myself...Have you seen one in the flesh ?..If not how did you get all the correct dimensions because thats critical

Civil,
I'm also interested, let me know when you have them.

1150 swinging arm in an Airhead

All,
I've seen the posts on the 1100 swinging arm, does the 1150 version fit in the same way? if so is the drive shaft the same at the gearbox end? and will Civils adaptor fit?

Cheers,
Andy

So it seems charly batty! :okay

Doesn't look all too bad with that longer swingarm as well :). There's still the offset situation that causes the rear wheel not to align with the front but it doesn't seem to hurt the driveability, looks funny though lol.

I've got my swingarm drawed out in solidworks now and should get started fabricating, if I have my hands on an adapter. No point in all that work if I couldn't connect the axle to the gearbox.
