Anyone joining us for this leg?

Have you never been in Carlisle at 03.00 in the morning?

You know you want to.......

A few more would be great!

Dave

I will be at Shell garage at 9.30 ish tonight. Hope to see you there. I have been checking progress on the site but no update since around 4pm.

Congratulations guys ... you did it !! :clap :clap

Lucy :bow 2 regions in one go  ... :clap x

See you soon.

Well that was fun! Riding towards the sea, with a big old moon shining over it, looked like you could have ridden across! Awesome :thumb
Weather was kind to us, turned a tad chilly towards the end.
Paul and Lucy seemed very chipper at the end, I even heard a complaint about the room having twin beds ;) Much respect to them for their efforts :bow
Big thanks to Brian for leading through the Lakes, despite having a sh*te set of lights on his bike! I thought he knew the route better than I did, or I would have run at the front, honest.
After waving Amy & her escort off, Brian, Dave and I trundled back south on the M6. I am now at my desk, in body, if not exactly in mind. Hopefully I will stay awake long enough to find out how today goes.

Well done to 'Lucy2Legs' and the 'ol hairyT (plus the rest of their crew). Reports were thin, at one point last night 23 visitors (12 members and 11 guests  ) were watching this all unfold. On the day over 1400 members visited the GSsite :thumb

Its truly remarkable to watch this all unfold, the coming together after months of prep and planning, its quite unerving just to sit here and watch.

Got home at 6.00 am and I have nothing but respect for those that did two runs cos I found one night leg pretty draining.

Great roads, fantatsic views (allegedly) and nearly my first bit of off-roading!

I did warn you that I wasn't the fastest of riders and I'm sorry if I slowed you all a bit.

Still, route done and great to meet you all.

Cheers

David

:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap well done,

I was shattered after one leg loads of respect Lucy :thumb :thumb :thumb

Especially when some of the first and all of the second is in darkness and on unfamiliar roads.

It would have been nice to have had a coffee etc with the people that you're handing over to, but nothing much was open at Carlisle at 3.00 am - and certainly not McDonalds.

I bet the route would be fantastic in daylight! :thumb

Earthmover should have gone in front because, when he did use his spotlights, he was lit up like a lighthouse and I thought I'd been caught by a speed camera.

Having said that, it was well led throughout and I'm really pleased to have been a small part in the event.

Hope everyone gets home safely :thumb
