I only want to listen to my new Garmin sat nav (Bluetooth only) but cannot find a system that doesn't include a microphone. Has anyone found anything useful that solves this problem, please?

Bought the BCK-08 stereo bluetooth, but although the Garmin sat nav recognises it, I cannot hear it through any headphones. Looks like I will have to send it back and spend some, perhaps, more realistic money.

Mine arrived in the post just about an hour ago. I've just charged it and paired it with my Navigator IV Zumo 660 and I can get voice directions, listen to the Media Player and make phone calls.

Without wishing to teach granny, it's not just a matter of Bluetooth settings or volume settings is it?

Hi. Don't know why, but this afternoon, in the car, it started to work!!! Just been out on the bike to scrub some new tyres in and it worked there too!
Hope it will be OK now, so thanks for the link, Schtum.:thumb2

Stop me if I go on about this too much and console me when it breaks but for nine quid....!

I'm sitting here streaming AAC Shooglenifty in A2DP Bluetooth stereo from my Nokia N97 mini into my Sennheiser CX300s. Nine quid - delivered by airmail from Taipei. Bloody amazing - whatever happened to the UK electronics industry.....? :(

Oh and if I clip the whole unit into the chinbar of my Shoei Hornet, I can also take and make phone calls via the Zumo, albeit the voice quality for the person on the receiving end isn't too good.

I wonder if I can open the casing and replace the internal mic. with a Garmin accessory one?

Nine quid - can you believe it - nine quid! That's two weeks wages for a sapphire miner in Madagascar......

Mine arrived yesterday and for the £'s spend I think it is incredible, no drop in music quality detected from plugging earphones in to the iPhone headphone socket or via the Bluetooth.

For people who don't want wires out to the bike this is an awesome bit of kit paired to my monitors. I haven't tried speech on the bike yet and don't doubt it will be limited but I may get our techies to jailbreak one and see what we can do about a microphone improvement if its required.

£9 :thumb2

looks promising

Im looking for a cheap set up for my open face,as I am a complete numpty can one of u chaps kindly give me a break down of how it all fits together,

do you pair the gizmo with yr zumo and then there is a receiver that goes on the speakers in yr helmet?

Any pics would be helpful.

at £9 they are throw away cheap if water etc gets in.

Well, it knocks my iTech Clip headset into touch!

Ordering one now!

Well after ditching my autocom setup for something simpler, I have had a punt on one of these. Arrived and now fully charged. Connected to Zumo 660 with iphone functionality piped through the ultimate monitors. As said a steel at this price.

Now tested at motorway speeds bluetoothed to iPhone and speech is entirely audible with bluetooth unit velcro'd to the chin bar of my Schubert S3 adjacent to my mouth.

Taking call ending call, starting, stopping music all achievable on the move.

If there's no pillion involved then save yourself the expense of a Scala, Interphone of the 300 sovs Schubert want for the Bluetooth module in my S3.

Off of the back of my testing we won't be bothering to do anything with the microphone as in all but a very few cases of open face helmet wearers you can attach the module without issue where you need it to be.

Next time out I will BT the module as a headset to the Zumo and operate the iPhone through that and check out the audio performance.

That's good to know, Judge. I haven't got round to testing mine out on the bike yet, largely because of a problem with the Bluetooth on my Navigator IV which I seemed to have finally cured this afternoon by doing a hard reset.

I had thought of buying an Autocom noise-cancelling mic. which they're doing for £15.00 and breaking into the device to install it in place of the original one but if you're getting good results without, I'll give it a go as it is first.

More testing over the last couple of days this time on various legs I swapped around the connections, either headset > iPhone or headset > Zumo 550 (no phone) of headset > Zumo (with phone).

What I am finding is the connection isn't predictable, seldom does 'walk up' work and I find I have to drop the pairing and re-pair before it will connect. Irrespective of which devices I am trying to link.

Incoming audio from the headset from the iPhone remains superb, speech through the headset is do-able with the headset velcroed to the inside of the chin bar directly in front of my mouth, (almost touching). My speech quality has been fairly described as 'back of the box', audible but not brilliant by any means. Anywhere other than directly in front of my mouth and the speech is lost.

Pairing with the Zumo and voice prompts are received fine but music all sounds like its being sung Karaoke by an old fella with brand new dentures, every 's' sound is a 'sssch'.

Audio from a paired phone via the Zumo is also very scratchy. This must be an issue to do with the headset receiving from the Zumo as the same Zumo has none of these issues when hard wired via an Autocom or plugging monitors direct in to the cradle of the Zumo. Nor an issue with I've used Scala or Interphone BT systems with the same Zumo.

We've a couple more of these coming in so I'll be able to try others in case the issue is one of consistent quality in the headset.

But right now I would happily use this for voice prompts from the Zumo but not music or phone.

I would also use it connected to my iPhone for music and phone.

Battery life - I've achieved 6 hours of music/phone/sat nav before the very irritating 4-beeps warning every minute low battery warning :blast and then I disconnect as I cannot stand the audible warning so no idea how long it will let me go on for :nenau
