must say they look the buisness. Will be interesting to see how they fare.I used so far mainly tourances(old) on my gsa's but wanted something a bit more offroadie as i intend to take her out to play in the mud:D
also after last winter i wanted something which might deal a bit better with the winter weather
Fitted at 15500 miles lets see how they go
i intend to keep this updated to tell you guys how they behave

FYI I just got a Mitas E-09 for the back of the 800GS, 58 squids delivered, and so far so rather nice. Still got a TKC on the front, its already outlasted two rear TKC's, bout 4k miles each.

Couldn't get Heidi's for love or money.

That is all. :rob

Ok done now the first 200 miles on them

The obvious first: Less "feedback" from the road
A bit noisy but not as much as my TKC's i had on my Africa twin(actually they are a lot less noisy then i thought they would be)
A bit "wiggly" when cruising at around80-90 mph

We had a few problems getting them seated proper,i ended up with a flat front. But now it seems to be ok

The feel when going into corners is good, again better then the TKC's

I will run them in while commuting and then end of the month we go to wales. That will be 2up with luggage and then in wales all day playing off road coming back on Sunday again

not according to the direction arrow on the tyre its not;)

Ahhhhh.......................but that'll be due to the 'front' originally being meant as a rear. Look at the direction of the blocks, they be pointing the wrong way.

I did the same, and fitted as per the arrow but I think the perceived wisdom now is that you should ignore it and fit 'back to front' so to speak. Having said that mine took me to Maroc and back with no probs. so it's a moot point :thumb2

AFAIK the latest 'unobtanium' mkII K60's have a purpose made front and the arrow is the right way round.

feck me i didnt know that i thought the tread blocks were arranged that way because of this new fangled thinking that was started by Avon they call it inverted front groove's and i quote from them

http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/technical-symbols

For the front tyre, a system pioneered by Avon in the late eighties and only now being adopted by the competition, resists 'stepped-wear' and cupping to deliver smooth handling throughout the tyre's life. By significantly reducing uneven tread wear, a further advantage of the IFG configuration is improved wet braking and shorter stopping distances.:nenau

the front is one of the new ones.....unless vaders giving me a bumstear:confused::D:D:D:D

Yours truly confused  :D

not as confused as me mate:D:D:D:D

still we followed the Destructions on the tin didnt we:D:D:D

Sorry, I didn't mean to stir it up....................it's just that sooooo many peeps have told me my tyre is on the wrong way - been trying to find the thread but no joy; somebody posted on here some quite detailed info on 'back to front Heidies' ............ whatever, it works so who gives a flying pedantic *&%$ :thumb2

Andres

EDIT: I think they are fab - never run off road tyres on the GS before and was suitably impressed. Worked really well on the Calums Rd trip, snow, sand and then green laning in Derbyshire mud no probs. Above 90, fully loaded they squirm a bit but hey that's hardly surpising! 8,000 later and they are horribly squared off - handling is now.........interesting but fine to leave on for a wet slippery winter, no worries. I love 'em and having ridden other GS's with TKC's I rate them as just as good off road but much better on road.
EDIT 2: From the piccies those look like the original K60's that I have, not the new ones?

No stirring at all mate:thumb2 any info that points us in the right direction helps. i did scratch my head for a wee while and kept checking the direction etc then thought bollix the arrow says that way:D thats how they are going on:D

Done now near enouh 2000 miles and i am very impressed of these Heidi's.
Took them off-road(http://www.ukgser.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=2497342) used them on the motorway for 250 miles without a stop and daily commute.
I am still taking it a "bit":D easy when its wet but otherwise they are brill.
As said before the deciding factor for me will be how long they last.If i get a decent life out of the rear i will stick with them:thumb

Me too

I had K60 fitted at FWR in South London on Tuesday and took them straight out into the slush in London (very gingerly). Didn't put a foot wrong. Wnat to take them out for a proper test. Off the the Bakerman bash on 28. Really looking forward to it. :bounce1:bounce1

chris at FWR had no proble sourcing the 140 rear and 110 front. give him a call. They charges £179 plus £24 for fitting.

Regards,

Path.

Did your front get put on the wrong way at FWR?

As far as I can tell both front and rear wheels rotate in the same direction on a motorcycle so, if the 110/80 front was originally designed as a rear fitment then the arrow would still be the pointing in the wrong direction if the tyre was fitted with tread pattern looking like it was correct :nenau.

I had a pair of these fitted to my 1150 GSA and was almost arguing with the tyre fitter about which way to mount it; he couldn't get his head around the direction arrow versus tread pattern conflict.

I have seen jobswoths issue tickets for bikes fitted with the tyres other than indicated on the tyre, or front tyres on rear and rear tyres on front unsless stated use on tyre permits it.
