I've done just over 200 miles on my LC since picking it up yesterday and whilst I'm loving it I've noticed it has a tendency to surge (small hesitations in the fuelling) when held at a constant throttle around 3-4k rpm which is quite annoying. I don't remember feeling it on my test ride but there's always a lot to take in on tests.

Yesterday towards the end of my first ride it was noticeable but I dismissed it as just me applying small unwanted throttle inputs due to not being used to the bike. But after spending a good deal more time today isolating the problem revs/gear/road surface/engine modes, there's an issue with the fuelling in the 3-4k range.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't spent the day messing about trying to find a problem that isn't there. But typically when slowing for the 30 zones in rural villages or general town riding it becomes noticeable.

I'll mention it on the first service and maybe look at getting a PC fitted if the dealer reports everything ok. Bit disappointing if I have to look at the PC option. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same?

Are you in dynamic mode?

Try running with cruise on and see if that cures it, also switch off traction control and test that.

Mine did the same and to a pint still does.

Better since 1st service update.

The throttle seems very sensitive

I also notice said 'surging' , always thought I was in too high a gear for the speed, change down cures it. :thumby:

Not the slightest inkling of surging on mine, what exactly is surging anyway?

I have noticed similar thing on mine .... Around 4k under or over it seems fine ... I suspect the emmision thingy too ...I will have mine looked at when I have the first service.:Motomartin

My 1150 has a tendency to feel as if its starving of fuel at a certain revs in top gear.
It's almost when I am not using any throttle at all to maintain speed and the bike feels as if its about to cut out of fuel then as soon as I move the throttle its off again.
Odd :nenau

Mine does that too when I pull away in 6th, its great to be able to join in on WC threads on an equal basis.

Yep this was a single spark 1150 problem. Poor show if it's come back on this model.

So it's nothing to worry about then just a characteristic of the bike?

IIRC the surging problem was ironed out with the introduction of the twin spark on the 1150. I don't think it's been an issue with any of the 1200 engines ... until now :thumby:

surging

my suspicion is that the rider is experiencing the different nature of the throttle or power delivery on the fly by wire system as to opposed to the throttle or power delivery of a cable system. I found it took a little bit of getting used to on the K1600GT and the new gs has a similar delivery ( obviously without the turbine whooooosh!). otherwise i haven't a clue!!
