I refer ( unfairly possibly) to John Bailey's ( Camel toe on here) 1250 GSA as Eyore because its grey, sad and has that many things screwed, strapped or stuck on its like a tinkers donkey

Any way without further ado

Trip booked many moons ago to the Picos

5 reprobates and my good self.

Huw an old army buddy on his XR

Kev R on his GS

Kev H proprietor of Doncaster Motorcycles on his just run in KTM 1290 GT and the youngster of the pack aged less than 40 can you believe

Richard my old school friend and Picos expert tour guide

The aforementioned John Bailey on Eyore

The day arrived for us to head to Plymouth meeting and grouping along the way. Kev R had stayed at my gaff the night before Kev H arrived nice and early at my place for departure number 1

Met Huw and John at Woodall services although john has never knowingly been on time he was

Tootled off tp lutterworth to meet Richard and then we were properly off in the rain and on the Fosse way ( none of that motorway malarkey)

We had some stickers made for the trip

Arrived at Plymouth for the usual bun fight and generally being fucked about by Brittany ferries

But at least it had stopped raining and no mishaps so things were looking up

Into our cabins a quick shower and into the BAr before a very passable dinner in the posh restaurant

Why people shun that as being expensive is beyond me as with the club membership the discount makes a nice dinner nearly as cheap as a shit one in the on board cafe. Same goes for Breakfast. All you can scoff for just over a fiver and we did do some scoffing let me tell you. One has to get ones moneys worth

Is that all? I just wasted 5 minutes of my day.... :blast

Patience dear boy I am trying to peice it together in my mind

so to continue

Off the ferry at pretty much the right time and then the joys of being fucked about by the nice Spanish passport bods practicing for Brexit

It wasnt too bad actually

First leg was as far as Cabezon de la sal via the motorway and then onto the nice roads as far as puentenansa for a coffee before heading over to La Hermida via a truly spectacular Mirador that over looks the Hermida road

Day 1 proper

Arriondas , Cangas de Onis and Rianno for second breakfast before heading over the Brass goat road into Potes

Actually many people have either been or written about all these roads etc etc before me and probably better so i will concentrate on just posting some pics of the trip with some of the Shenanigans that went on

All the days tend to blurr

John Was very keen to arm his Alarm and alarmed disk lock every night which started a silly game of nipping out and giving a tyre a kick

He was abusive

It then got a little silly as we were so concerned for the security of Eyore we helped him out

He then decided to lock the gate with a cable combination type lock

Only problem with that was the fucking Mong did not know the combination to unlock it and no he wasnt kidding but after a few texts and calls to his long suffering daughter who did know the combination all was well and truce declared

We did have a couple of days off ( not consecutively) where we ate and drank and were generally childish appart from the young Kev who kept doing really stupid things like going for 5 mile runs on the beach

We thought someone was stealing Eyore

But no one was too bothered

Our last night was very funny

John wanted a lobster for his meal so off we tootled

Much cider wine and brandy was consumed along with his lobster and our more humble fare which seemed to go to his head never mind when he got the bill
I got this message on Face book that we still have not deciphered and the best comment of the week when he had managed to get to his room he opened the window and tried to throw water at us whist demanding a bucket of piss from his long suffering room mate

All bikes performed amazingly over the 1800 odd miles
Average speed was 48MPH

The ferry home was 4 hours late which meant a dark and long ride home from Plymouth but on the Upside i bumped into Micky of this parish on the ferry

I am now lnackered and miserable at not being in Spain

Up the Hermida Gorge road to Panes and the Arriondas and onto our Hotel in Ribadesella and out for a few beers and some food

Fucking he’ll Nutty, they served them salad!
