West Norfolk.
I have provisionally booked the pit for 16th & 17th of June and I am suggesting the possibility of a weekend event.
In the past we have had some very successful one day events and I thought an overnighter might be of interest.
There would of course be plenty of room for camping but as yet there are no facilities. A portaloo would be useful if anyone has one!

A few of us East Anglians have birthdays around that time, so it should be a good bash.

We may also do a little green laneing and tackle the Castle Acre Fords:thumb

For those who have not been, you can do a search on the forum and find previous reports.

Beeston is in the Swaffham, Fakenham, Dereham triangle (Norfolk that is).

So, anyone interested?

Mike.

A few of us from the club site, went down the pit yesterday and then did some fords and green lanes as a trial for June.
Great fun although Scotty had a spill in the Pit and hurt his pride.

Nice to see you guys, guess you were right about the protective powers of Aldi wellies, (although they might have been better in the fords).:o

Looking forward to the next one (with boots). :thumb

ps Mike that's one extreme bke washing pit.

Just bumping the thread.
The pit is booked for 16th 17th June.
Some are staying overnight with campers etc.
We will be taking trips out to the local green lanes, Peddars Way and the Fords of Castle Acre.

I have attempted to include a Mapsource map of the area with a waypoint.

Yes, this looks good. Please add me to your list. Not sure how my boxer will fare with Conti escape rear and michelin T66 front but I'll find out. No portaloo I'm afraid but i'm on for camping. I'll look out for more details.

Owain, I'm sure that if it stays as dry as it is now, you will have no problems.
I have ridden my GSA down there on TKCs but recently my Suzuki DRZ on standard off/on road tyres.

How about coming over to the Jennyns Arms at Denver on the 17th for a meet with other GSers?
7-7.30 Pm.

Mike.

I should be on for the Sunday. A couple of mates want to try my bike, is it ok if they come along?

Was is the current anticipated cost per head?

The cost will be £10 per person per day.
But, 3 blokes on one bike, maybe £15 total.
In the past, my wife and Mrs Treeman have cooked up some grub and Mrs Treeman keeps us in tea and coffee.
If they do it this time, maybe you could chip in?

Hows the pit looking Mike ?

It seems to change daily.
I went there for 15 mins last night and there has been more filled in.
The track that leads from the flat area, over to the right and up onto the green area towards my house, has gone.
I have spoken to the owner and he is going to try & reinstate it and make it more biker friendly.
There is a lot of new dirt, which after the rain, is very soft.
The water pits are more full and there is some water on the whoops (which makes it more fun).
I think it may be more of a challenge for the young kids and unless it dries out more, it wont be a place for my on my GS:eek: .

It is still 10 acres of off road fun:thumb2

By the way, anyone else that wants to come down and say hello but not ride the pit, please do.
Chalky a family are staying overnight as I believe are some others.
A few beers and a camp fire might be in order.

Mike.

The owner of the pit came to see me today & he said he would get in there with a machine to make it more bike friendly:thumb (or should I say novice friendly?).
