Aren't the headlamps on GS's H1's, are these the lamps for the driving lights people fit?

Is this one of these clever solenoid operated dip/main beam combinations then?

H4-3 for the 1100 and the 650 will be £70 a kit plus £8 post (UK)

What mods are required to fit to the R1100GS?

Swap ya a tourque wrench :augie:D

A chum fitted this sort of lamp to his FJR, and had to spend some time jiggling the servo unit and various mounting bits about until the beam did actually move from the dip focal point to the main beam focal point.

I'm sure these will be superior units and that won't be an issue???

Been on trial and great results, they do actually work, the dip beam is :thumb2

Fitted to Mrs Flips Transalp 650 for 6 months now. Excellent result when compared to standard bulb. Have done a bit off off roading and she has had a couple of "offs" and the unit has withstood the abuse without issue.

Dipped beam is superb and gives a very strong and powerful beam pattern. Full beam is also much better, but you lose the beam close to the bike as per the original h4 bulb. I found it a little strange at first because my 1150 has seperate hi/lo bulbs which means the lo always stays on giving you the infill between hi and lo.

My pops rode it in spain and was well impressed with the results.

Will IMHO work better with the 650 and the 1100 because of their more focussed reflector. The Transalp is a clear lensed reflector and the headligh itself is very big. That said, I am very very pleased with the results and can highly recommend these units.

As with the 1150/1200 you don't have to chop into the wiring, this means that you can revert back to an original h4 if you do have any problems or wish to remove it when selling.
