While doing the school run last week, my grandson asked why my GS was so muddy. Once I'd explained, he was keen to have a go down a few tracks.

So grabbing one of his christmas presents, we set off to kill two birds with one stone.

To start with we tried out the byway alongside the A33.

Next, having a good search for Roman relics down the Devil's highway.

But all we found was this old German nail.

Around the back of Arborfield church.

He enjoyed the bywaying, marked up his first Ford and wasn't too bothered we didn't find any treasure :)
