Yesterday BMW confirmed that 150.000 BMW motorcycles are equipped with the affected EWS. BMW spokesman said, that motorcycles are affected that were build between 08/01/2006 and 03/15/2008. He also said that it's up to the dealers if they inform their customers about the issue. BMW does not inform the customers because the EWS-failure is not a safety problem.

BUT...EWS faliure means it won't start.not that it dies...once its up and running you don't need the ant ring till the next start...
