Some of these, it took all of 30 seconds, they are called "Boxer bar muffs"

Made of neoprene, very light, and all the swithes are still easy to get to with the thumb bit.

They felt fine on a short blast up the street but I'll let you know how I get on with them.

Had my first proper ride with them yesterday, 6 degrees, high winds and only unlined leather gloves and the grips on number 1, toasty warm.
If you do a lot of town work they are a little strange at first trying to use the switches ( I pressed the horn a couple of times while turning left

)

On a longer run they'll be great, I was erm "making progress" with them on and there were no ill effects such as pulling the brakes on.

Well, I just fitted a pair of these to my 1999 R1150GS at 06:40 this morning. Had to take the hand guards off, which took, ooh, 10 mins or so. Fitting the muffs took about 2 mins more. Getting used to them as I rode in took another 5 mins or so.

Warmth comparison? Well, yesterday on my way up the A32 at 0715, my hands were bloody freezing on the backs with warm palms & heated grips on high. This morning my hands were warm all over and my heated grips were on low. I even considered turning the heated grips off at one point

I am going to cut a small hole in them on the outer side so that I can re-fit the hand guards and then I think they'll be perfect

Dunno, it wasn't raining this morning

How easy are they to get the hands in / out whilst riding? I know you said it wasn't raining, but when it does I can be wiping my visor every 5 minutes or so

Fine. Slightly trickier than without but the payoff of the added warmth makes so much of a difference it's worth it.

I can get like that with lifting and lowering the visor in the cold. Def. was opening & closing the visor less this morning but because of the warmth & general hand snugness not any difficulty. IYSWIM.
